A delegation of Hëna e Plotë “Bedër” University headed by rector Dr.Ferdinand Gjana, was invited to participate in the Fourth International Congress on trends in higher education on the topic: ‘’Academic Entrepreneurship" held in Istanbul on 6-7 June 2014. The congress, attended by rectors and officials of over 300 universities from 45 countries, is organized by the International Association of Universities.
During the congress, Dr. Gjana held a series of meetings with the rectors and officials of various universities, where he discussed the possibility of mutual cooperation in educational programs and research activities, academic initiatives, training programs, and exchange of experiences.
A successful meeting was held with the delegation of the University of California in Pennsylvania, headed by its President Ms.Geraldine M. Jones, who signed a cooperation agreement aimed at deepening the relations between the two institutions. After the signment, both parts expressed their willingness to implement, as soon as possible, cooperation opportunities offered by this agreement.
Rector of “Hëna e Plotë” (Bedër) University, Dr.Ferdinand Gjana said that the signing of this agreement gives opportunities for mutual cooperation in the field of academic research and new opportunities for students and staff of both parts. The agreement signed between the two universities includes the exchange of academic staff and students, organizing conferences and coordination of joint projects in the field of scientific research and academic visits.
Fourth International Congress on "Trends in higher education" aims to provide a unique international forum to discuss new forecasts, innovative and entrepreneurial university trends in the world.
It also aims to examine the fundamental problems and challenges of higher education, and ended up with some innovative solutions.
