Internal quality assurance is a legal obligation for higher education institutions, being responsible for developing policies and procedures for quality assurance. This system is established by higher education institutions and operates through the internal quality assurance unit. The structure and functions of this unit are defined in the statute of the higher education institutions.
The IQAU develops standards for internal quality assurance in accordance with the Quality Code. The unit conducts periodic evaluations of teaching and scientific research activities. An integral task of this unit is also to carry out student surveys at the end of each semester on the quality of teaching for courses in each program offered by the higher education institution.
The competencies of the Internal Quality Assurance Unit are as follows:
To support the Permanent Commission for Institutional Quality Assurance in drafting policies and procedures for internal quality assurance, which are approved by the Academic Senate.
To support the Permanent Commission for Institutional Quality Assurance in developing quality assurance standards in accordance with the Quality Code. To periodically assess the results of teaching and scientific research activities in the main units of the College, ensuring alignment with established standards.
To conduct tracking studies to evaluate the employment progress of students and the effectiveness of the programs offered by the College, in collaboration with relevant units.
To research different models within the framework of quality improvement that can serve as examples and to disseminate these models to other academic and administrative units.
To coordinate the implementation of internal control standards in accordance with the regulatory framework of Bedër University College. To prepare the internal control action plan and, when necessary, determine new standards within the institution.
To recommend institutional objectives and strategies.
To propose the implementation of the institution's strategic plan and action plan.
To prepare additional recommendations in the NJSBC guidelines for improving quality and the strategic planning of academic and administrative units.
To assess and publish all activities prepared within the units related to the evaluation of academic and administrative services, quality development, and the approval of quality standards.
To manage the strategic planning process in units approved by the Permanent Commission for Institutional Quality Assurance, ensuring compliance with the financial management and control law as well as other sub-legal acts. Within the framework of the plan and strategic objectives, to assess administrative services, develop quality, approve quality standards, and carry out other related tasks while publishing the results.
To inform units about decisions made, supervise the implementation of work processes within the quality assurance framework, and monitor the results of this work.
To oversee the internal evaluation process of the institution and supervise the preparation of the self-assessment report.
To facilitate the groundwork for the "external evaluation" of Bedër University College and provide any necessary information to the external evaluation institution or organization.
To closely monitor internal and institutional evaluation activities and coordinate them with measures taken within the strategic planning framework, including improvement and periodic monitoring.
To provide suggestions based on issues identified in the "SWOT" analysis. At the end of each semester, before the exam period, to organize a student survey on the quality of teaching for courses in each study program, in collaboration with the academic office.
After each evaluation, to report the relevant results and proposals to the Academic Senate.
