Bachelor in Journalism and Multimedia Communication

    About the Program

The "Bachelor in Journalism and Multimedia Communication" program is designed to provide students with knowledge in two main areas: journalism and multimedia communication. The restructured curriculum aims to equip students who will engage in the media field with the skills needed for producing and processing valuable content in a transmedia environment. Transmedia or multimedia platforms are ubiquitous today, making it essential to prepare professionals with comprehensive academic knowledge to address this new reality.

The program curriculum places significant emphasis on knowledge that helps media professionals confront increasingly prevalent phenomena such as fake news, conspiracy theories, and other forms of informational disruption. The fundamental principle reflected in the curriculum is the coherence of knowledge and skills acquired throughout the entire study cycle. Students go through semesters that progressively expand their knowledge and equip them with the competencies necessary to enhance their chances of rapid integration into the job market. The first year of the program includes foundational courses and introduces students to the basic concepts of communication and journalism. During this year, students gain knowledge about language, the relationship between media and society, and the fundamental concepts of news writing and reporting. In the second year, the curriculum introduces students to courses specific to the discipline of communication and journalism, while expanding on the knowledge gained in the first year and providing practical insights into multimedia communication. Students participate in two dedicated laboratories and for the first time, elective courses are included. In the third year, in addition to finalizing requirements and methodological training, the curriculum includes courses on ethics and legislation, new journalism genres, and audience education.

The "Bachelor in Journalism and Multimedia Communication" program is completed with 180 ECTS credits, in line with the curriculum proposed by the Department of Communication Sciences.

All those who successfully complete the first-cycle studies in the "Bachelor in Journalism and Multimedia Communication" program will be awarded a diploma: "Bachelor in Journalism and Multimedia Communication."
